Liz Collier - Founder and Artistic Director
Liz founded NorthernRose in 2010 as well as being a performer,teacher,choreographer and physical theatre practitioner. Through NorthernRose her aim is to bring people together and to enjoy all the benefits of the arts in a wider sense.
Liz has performed with Shakespeare's Globe in 'The Tempest' and 'The Storm' with Mark Rylance and The Kosh, and has also been an artist with The David Glass Ensemble for two seasons performing as 'The Thing' in 'Gormenghast' at BAC and UKTour. Liz performed in AL Webber's 'Phantom' (Hamburg Co) and with Robert North's 'Snowman' at Birmingham Rep and Edinburgh Festival Theatres. Liz has also worked with other choreographers,directors,artists including Tim Carroll, Wayne McGregor,Fleur Darkin, David Needham, Julie Lincoln, Julie Bowers, Mary Goodhew, Peter Schofield, Sita Popat, and on many advertising and research projects including work with Sisters of the Cross and Passion, Circus Space and Great Ormand St. Hospital/notschool.
A BAHons graduate of Leeds University/Bretton Hall, trained at The Royal Ballet School and Northern Ballet School (ARAD/TC), Liz has directed and choreographed on mainstream projects, community ventures, with specialist skills, vocational and local dance schools and in private education.
Originally from Bolton, Liz gives thanks to Anna Christie School Of Dance, established in Bolton in 1965 by Ann Collier.
